Schmitz is indoor long jump national champ (The Marysville Advocate)

Darcie Schmitz, a Fort Hays State senior who graduated from Baileyville, became an indoor national champion Friday when she won the long jump. Schmitz, competing in the long jump, landed 19 feet 9.5 inches to win the event during the NCAA Division 2 Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque.

IU’s Bayer named All-American in distance running (Fort Wayne News-Sentinel)

Andy Bayer is officially an All-American. The Leo graduate and Indiana University distance runner anchored the Hoosiers' distance medley relay team to a seventh-place finish Friday night at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. But it wasn't without some drama.
