Molecular Rulers Used To Probe Nanopores

Image Caption: This is a graphic depicting how the "ice fishing" method determines the distance across a membrane nanopore. Both images show DNA strands of known lengths topped by a polymer cap (orange sphere) being driven through the nanopore. If the DNA strand is long enough to completely transverse the channel (left), it will "hook" a circulating polymer (green sphere) on the other side of ...

Knowing Jesus: "Long Distance Healing" – John 4:46-54

Man can blast other men to the moon or up to a space station. We can engineer DNA strands in a "Petrie dish". We can store 100,000 pages of text on a silicon chip the size of a finger tip. We can explore the depths of the ocean with an unmanned submarine and fly a mission thousands of miles away from an unmanned drone to shoot a missile at a small group of men near a cave. Much of what we can do most of us cannot truly understand. What does "faith" really mean in a time like ours? What does it l

Cradling a tall latte (extra hot, triple shot - her urban survival reflexes evidently still partially intact), and staring miserably into the middle distance, Daisy laboriously (and frankly after some time, boringly) relayed the events of the past hour. Up until today Daisy had been a dutiful member of HR at a Wor
