Spanish long-distance runner Sergio Sanchez has broken the European indoor 3,000m record. Sanchez ran a time of 7 minutes, 32.41 seconds at Valencia's Luis Puig Stadium on Saturday, beating the 7:32.98 mark set by Spanish compatriot Alberto Garcia in 2003. Sanchez ran the last 1,400 meters alone as the crowd cheered him on at the City of Valencia International Meet.
