Spare a thought for the coldness of the long-distance runners (Independent)

It was a strange meeting. Once upon a time the pupils at Tynecastle High School were taught English by Wilfred Owen. Yesterday, on their first day at their rebuilt, state-of the art educational complex, some of the Tynecastle class of 2010 were treated to a lesson by the athlete whose fluid, high-speed running style is sheer poetry in motion.

Bulletin board: Notes and events (The Buffalo News)

Henry Sypniewski of Cheektowaga has been named the Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year in the men's 90-94 age division for 2009 by the Masters Long Distance Running Committee of USA Track and Field. Sypniewski also won the Paul Spangler Award for the oldest male age division award winner. It's the seventh time Sypniewski has been honored by the USATF.

CrossFit Games 2009
